The North Fayette Valley cross country teams were in action Tuesday, Oct. 3, for their final regular season meet of the fall. The TigerHawks competed at West Delaware against a talent-filled field of schools from northeast Iowa.

There was seemingly some confusion in the final results posted by West Delaware meet officials, as NFV results had runners from the boys’ and girls’ squads mixed up, so final results and times are unofficial. During the busy Homecoming week, NFV head coach Jon Kullen was not available for comment on the matter.

North Fayette Valley was back in action last week at the Jesup Invitational as the girls’ and boys’ cross country teams went up against some fierce competition.

“It was a highly talented group of runners that we competed against last night,” said coach Jon Kullen on Wednesday morning. “It was the perfect opportunity to preach, ‘run YOUR race.’ Otherwise, a lot of runners would burn out trying to keep up with that crowd.”

In the girls’ varsity race, there were six ranked teams and 18 total full teams competing as the TigerHawks came home 10th with 240 points. Among the teams in competition were schools from Class 1A, 2A, and 3A.
