JELL-O at historical center

      The Fayette County Historical Center in West Union will host a tribute to JELL-O as part of its March coffee. Those planning to attend the 9:30 a.m. program Saturday, March 23, are invited to bring JELL-O recipes. In addition, JELL-O desserts will be available for tasting.

Elgin musical rehearsal Thursday

      Elgin’s 2024 Homecoming Celebration will again include a musical performance by local residents. Rehearsal will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Elgin Public Library. All who are interested in participating are invited to come.

WU Chamber Bowling Tournament 

      West Union Main Street Chamber is hosting a 9-pin bowling tournament Saturday, March 16, at Lilac Lanes in West Union. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with the pins starting to fall at noon. A second round of bowlers will follow at 3 p.m., and if needed a third shift to begin at 6 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus Council #4287, West Union, is hosting it’s annual Lenten Fish Fry at the Holy Name Parish Center serving from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 8.

Scramble to the 4-H Omelet Brunch Sunday

The annual Fayette County 4-H Omelet/Pancake Brunch will be held Sunday, March 10, at the Fayette County Fairgrounds Dance Pavilion in West Union. Serving will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., with a menu consisting of a made to order omelet, all you can eat pancakes, applesauce, coffee and milk.

WU blood drive 

      A LifeServe Blood Drive has been scheduled from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Holy Name Parish Center, West Union. Appointments can be scheduled online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or by calling 800.287.4903.

1964 Valley class reunion

      The Valley CEW 1964 class reunion will be held Saturday, July 6, at the Gunder Roadhouse in Gunder. Doors will open at 11 a.m., with the meal to be served at noon. To RSVP, call Dean Helgerson at 563.412.8099.

Opera House performance rescheduled

      The performance of pianist Abbie Brewer originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, at the Fayette Opera House has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 15. The free listen and learn event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Miss Clermont candidates 

      Clermont Community Club is currently seeking candidates for Miss Clermont 2024-25. Candidates must be from the Clermont area and a resident of Fayette County. All young ladies between the ages of 16-21 are encouraged to apply.
