Dennis and Roselene Carey of Oelwein will celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

The couple were married April 8, 1967, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fayette.

Leo and Louise Johansen of Elgin will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Sunday, April 2.

Leo Johansen and Louise Butikofer were married April 2,1967, at Illyria Community Church, rural Elgin.

Arlene (Brincks) Lansing, formerly of the Ossian and Castalia area, is turning 80 years old!

Gladys Hackmann

Lifelong area resident Gladys Hackmann will observe her 100^th birthday on Saturday, March 25. Friends, neighbors and relatives are invited to help Gladys celebrate this very special milestone by showering her with birthday wishes.

A teacher until she married in 1940, Gladys and her late husband, Hugo, became the parents of three children, Rachel, Mark and Stanley.

Hugo died in 2008, but Gladys continued to live on her farm east of West Union until recently, when she moved to Maple Crest Manor.

Longtime St. Lucas resident Frieda (Bodensteiner) Mihm, currently of West Union, is observing her 90^th birthday today (Wednesday, March 15).

An open house will be held in her honor on Sunday, March 26. 

The celebration will begin following Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church in St. Lucas and continue until 2 p.m.
