Kaylena Jensen and Derek Neegaard, both of Dysart, were united in marriage in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, May 13, at Dysart United Methodist Church in Dysart. The Rev. Linda Butler officiated.

Parents of the bride are Barton and Dawn Jensen of Dysart. Parents of the groom are Erika and Dale Kane of Maynard and David Neegaard of Mankato, Minn.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder ivory gown featuring a lace overlay and train. She carried a bouquet of light blue hydrangeas and white roses.

The bride’s sister, Savannah Jensen of Dysart, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Paige Huebner of Urbandale, Anne Sherwood of Des Moines, Megan Gross of Harker Heights, Texas, and Jessica Dunlap of Gardner, Kan., all friends of the bride; and KyLee Kane, sister of the groom, of Maynard.

They wore floor-length gowns of light blue and navy chiffon.

Sophia Miller, the daughter of friends, was the flower girl.

The bride’s personal attendant was her friend Sarah Johnson.

Serving as the groom’s best men were his friends Jeremy Miller of Cedar Rapids and Cody Benge of Pleasant Hill. Groomsmen were Justin Neegaard, brother of the groom, of Fairbank; Jamie Logan of Oelwein and Matt Pohlmann of Marion, friends of the groom; and Collin Kane, brother of the groom, of Maynard.

The ring bearer was Breck Kaiser, godson of the bride, of Dysart.

Seating the guests were Tim Rivera and Zech Moriarty.

Vocalist Emily Snyder, pianist Carol Lorenzen, and organist Marilyn Mehlhaus provided the music.

Seated at the guest book were Ivy McKinley and Mikayla Smith.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at the Dysart Community Building in Dysart.

A graduate of Union High School, the bride earned her BA degree in communication studies from the University of Northern Iowa in 2012. She is currently the community relations manager for Senior Housing Management in Cedar Rapids.

The groom graduated from West Central High School in Maynard in 2003. He is the new business install manager for Aramark Uniform Services in Waterloo.

The couple are making their home in Dysart.
