Augie Bindert of Hawkeye will celebrate his 80^th birthday as the guest of honor at an open house hosted by his three children, Faron Bindert of Strawberry Point, Rowdy Bindert of Waverly, and Carla Bindert of Alden..

    The celebration will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Hawkeye American Legion Hall. Cake, punch and coffee will be served.

Augie would welcome cards and notes, but no gifts, please.
