Edna Blockhus

Edna Corrine Blockhus passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Palmer Lutheran Heath Center in West Union.

She was born on June 16, 1931 in Elgin, Iowa to Louie and Ellen (Kupan) Nelson.

She graduated from Elgin High School in 1948.

Edna was united in marriage to Richard Blockhus on October 10, 1950 in Clermont, Iowa. Two children were born to this union.

She worked for many years at Garvin’s in West Union.

Edna loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with her family.

She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Union.

Edna is survived by her son, Steve of Marion and three grandchildren, Josh Keith Baumler, Cody Neil Baumler, and Dillion Richard Baumler.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Lisa Baumler; a brother, Lyle; and sister, Lillian.

Funeral services were held at 4 pm on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with a visitation from 2 pm until service time. Burial followed in West Union Cemetery.
