West Union Chamber of Commerce and Main Street West Union are sponsoring “Treats in the Trunk” on the Civic Plaza on Sunday, Oct. 19. The event, which will include a number of Halloween activities for people of all ages, will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The community Halloween party will be held along the courthouse square in downtown West Union.

Participants will first decorate treat bags upon their arrival. A traditional costume parade at approximately 2:30 p.m. will include something special for all participants.

In addition, the children will trick-or-treat, or rather “trunk-or-treat” while walking from vehicle to vehicle parked along the designated downtown area.

Local residents are invited to join participating business owners in hosting the “trunks” of treats. Those wishing to reserve a parking space for their respective trunks are asked to call Nancy Dunt at (563) 422-3632.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26.
