West Central’s last-minute 58-54 Homecoming victory means the Devils are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

While Ethan Steinbronn and Joe Wolfe continue to set school records, it was a fumble recovery in the end zone by tackle Jack McDonough with 1:48 left in the game that ended the winning rally.

Steinbronn was 28-44 for an almost unbelievable 415 yards passing, a new school record. Wolfe also continued to rewrite records with 17 caches for 240 receiving yards.

With all the records, it still took McDonough’s heroics to win the game and probably seal a playoff position. Right now, the Devils’ hold the head-to-head criteria against both Midland and Kee.
