WC golfers fall to CR

            The West Central boys’ golf team fell to Clayton Ridge at a meet held Thursday at Clayton Ridge. The Blue Devils finished 12 strokes behind the Eagles, 176-188.

            Hud Johnston finished with a 42 to lead West Central, only one stroke behind medalist Jake Jensen from Clayton Ridge. Chase Grimm and Dustin Gordon shot at 45 and 49, respectively. Kaleb Kim and Brady Forsyth were both at 52, with Dustin Richards coming in at 56; Adam Cannon carded a 58. Miles Walenceus and Jordan Taylor each shot a 59, and Andrew Sharff had scored a 74.

            For the girls, Beth Meyer finished with a 61, while Cheridan Brickman was not far behind with a 63.

            The Blue Devils were scheduled to meet Central Elkader at Big Rock Golf Course in Fayette on Tuesday, April 22, then face Sumner-Fredericksburg on Monday, April 28.
