Thomas J. “Tommy” Crilly, III, 43, of Urbana, died on Friday evening, Dec. 20, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader with Rev. Paul R. Peters officiating.

Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wadena.

A memorial fund has been established “for my boys.”

Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home of Arlington assisted the family with the arrangements.

Thomas Joseph Crilly, III was born on Jan. 5, 1970 in Iowa Falls, the son of Thomas Joseph and Dorothy Ann (Mazza) Crilly, Jr.  He grew up in the rural Wadena area and graduated from Valley of Elgin High School in 1989. 

Tommy moved to Urbana where he raised his sons and owned and operated Crilly Construction, building homes in the greater Cedar Rapids area. 

He was formerly a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Wadena.  Tommy was a NASCAR and Denver Bronco fan. 

His passions in life were hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his sons.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

Tommy is survived by his two sons, Bryce and Cody, both of Urbana; parents, Tom and Sis Crilly of Arlington; brother Keith Crilly of Dundee; two sisters, Tiffany (Dan) Halverson of Tripoli and Meghan (Jesse) Bond of Arlington; grandmother, Louise Mazza of Brightwaters, N.Y.; seven nieces and nephews, Samantha Crilly, Kinzi Crilly, Jovi Hills, Addi Crilly, Tyler Halverson, Haileigh Halverson, and Cale Halverson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
