A ‘Disney’ Homecoming at NFV

“Disney” is the theme for North Fayette Valley’s (NFV) inaugural Homecoming celebration. 

The NFV Student Council will host the 2013 Homecoming Parade on Thursday, Oct. 10. This year’s event will feature a “Parade of Lights” with local fire departments and other emergency personnel participating.

In addition, the Student Council invites local businesses and organizations to be a part of the 2013 Homecoming Parade, with hopes that some floats will be lighted as part of the celebration.

The parade route will start at the corner of E. Main and N. Walnut and travel west around the next three sides of the courthouse square in downtown West Union. 

Following the parade, the NFV drill team and cheerleaders will perform at the Civic Plaza. The Homecoming Court will then be formally introduced. As part of the NFV whole-grade sharing agreement, no Homecoming King or Queen will be selected. Rather, three senior couples from both North Fayette and Valley will be named to the 2013 Homecoming Court.

NFV students will also celebrate the following Homecoming Week schedule::

Monday, Oct. 7 – Neon Day

Tuesday, Oct. 8 – Tu-Tu Tuesday

Wednesday, Oct. 9 – Disney Day

Thursday, Oct. 10 – Duck Dynasty Day

Friday, Oct. 11 – TigerHawk Day with a 2:15 p.m. Pep Rally 

Kickoff for the varsity football game versus MFL/MarMac is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. The Homecoming Dance will conclude the student activities at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12.

WUFD Open House Oct. 9.

Due to the North Fayette Valley Homecoming Parade scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, the West Union Fire Department will host its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Cookies, refreshments and fire truck rides will be available from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 9. The 2013 theme is “Prevent Kitchen Fires.”
