VBS to host ‘Everywhere Fun Fair’

Vacation Bible School, sponsored jointly by Bethel Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Zion Lutheran churches in West Union, will be held Sunday, July 28, through Thursday, Aug. 1, at Zion Lutheran Church. Sessions will run from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

Children age 4 through eighth grade are invited to attend.

This year’s theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together.”

After a high-energy opening at Friendship Central, the children will make their way to the Bible Bazaar. Interactive Bible lessons reveal five Friendship Phrases for living as Jesus teaches. In addition, children will discover Scripture Souvenir memory verses that will boost their faith long after VBS.

The children will expand on what they’ve discovered by participating in a variety of activities: making their own art projects at the Creation Zone, singing new music at the Choral Corner, exploring science activities at Innovation Station, participating in recreational activities at Global Games, and enjoying tasty snacks at the Eatery Expo.

Parents are asked to register their children as soon as possible for planning and ordering purposes. Registration can be done at any of the three church offices.

There is no registration fee, as this is a mission project for the churches. Parishioners may make donations of $15 toward supplies to help with the cost of VBS.

Volunteers are also needed to assist before, during, and after VBS. There are plenty of volunteering opportunities from which to choose! Donations of snacks would also be very much appreciated.

For more information, you may contact the Zion Lutheran church office at 422-3295 or Loree Kloster at 422-5857.
