Shoppers with a sweet tooth will especially enjoy this St. Patrick’s Day weekend in West Union. In addition to in-store specials, West Union area businesses and organizations are serving up some delicious chocolate treats beginning Friday, March 15.

The West Union Chamber of Commerce-sponsored “Chocolate Walk” will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 16.

Shoppers are invited to stop into each participating business and pick up a registration card. While checking out the store specials or maybe catching a peek of a leprechaun, customers are invited to grab a scrumptious bite of chocolate, enjoy a refreshment, and/or get his or her “Chocolate Walk” card stamped.

Completed cards can then be brought into the Chamber Office in downtown West Union on Friday or left with participating merchants on either day of the event.

Only completed cards will be eligible for the grand prize drawing of a “Chocolate Lover’s Gift Basket filled to the brim with all sorts of chocolate items, including truffles, wine (must be 21 years of age), a handcrafted table runner, a ladies’ scarf, boxed chocolates, a plaid hat, and much more.

The grand prize basket can be viewed in the front window of the West Union Chamber of Commerce Office.
