Every fall since 2009, the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital has selected a group of pediatric patients to serve as Kid Captains for the Hawkeye football team. Each captain has his or her very own story of strength and determination, including the inspirational one of 11-year-old Aaron Miller of Hawkeye.

“I can remember being at the (University of Iowa Children’s Hospital) and looking down at the field,” recalled the now sixth-grade student at North Fayette Elementary. “I said, ‘I want to be down there someday.’”
