Battling through the hot, Friday afternoon temperatures, the South Winn softball team was able to pick up a win over rival Turkey Valley in Jackson Junction. South Winn took game one, 7-6, before falling, 4-3, in game two of the afternoon doubleheader.

The Warriors looked to be unstoppable through the first 2½ innings. They scored two runs in the first two innings and a fifth run in the top half of the third inning. It wasn’t until the bottom half of the third that Turkey Valley got on the scoreboard.

SW picks up pair of wins at NFV tourney

The Warriors went on to win the game, 12-2. (Zakary Kriener photo)
